I had reason to require Dr David Macklin assist me in my role as Clinical Hub Manager for London Ambulance Service. On the day in question he was the 'on-call' senior clinical advisor for the Medical Director of the London Ambulance Service. We discussed and agreed an escalation plan to manage the frequent calls of a particular patient who was now calling so often as to present a risk to the population of the local are with their extremely high call rate. Dr Macklin was given the situation, facts and what was requested operationally by the Ambulance Service. He came to the same decision I did and a plan was put into place effectively and safely to manage the demands of this patient. The plan worked and it was seamless and professionally done.
